Architects Golf Club Welcomes Two New Additions to the Teaching Team

We are proud to welcome two talented professionals to the team at The Architects Learning Academy: David Scott and Ron Young. With decades of experience and diverse teaching backgrounds, both instructors are ready to help golfers of all skill levels improve their game.

David Scott
David Scott joins us as an Associate Assistant Teaching Professional. Originally from Scotland, David sharpened his skills at Montrose 1562, the fifth-oldest golf course in the world. Before entering the golf instruction world, David built a successful career in healthcare—earning a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and serving as a pediatric physiologist and regional rehabilitation manager for 18 years. He was recognized as a NJ Top Doctor for three consecutive years (2017–2019), and brings a deep understanding of biomechanics and body movement to his golf instruction.
At The Architects Learning Academy, David combines scientific precision with practical swing solutions—quickly identifying the issue, explaining the fix, and guiding each student toward lasting improvement.

Ron Young
Ron Young joins us as a Teaching Professional, bringing years of PGA experience to the team. Originally from Stoneham, Massachusetts, Ron has served as head professional at both private and semi-private clubs across the North Shore of Boston. His teaching career has taken him to prestigious venues throughout Florida, Alabama, and New Jersey.
Most notably, Ron taught at the world-renowned Doral Resort in Miami under the legendary Jimmy Ballard. From beginners to touring professionals, Ron has worked with golfers of all levels—always focused on identifying challenges, offering clear solutions, and helping players reach their goals.

Whether you’re new to the game or looking to fine-tune your swing, David and Ron are here to help you play your best. We’re thrilled to have them join The Architects Golf Club family and invite you to book a lesson today at The Architects Learning Academy.

Architects Golf Club Featured in Golf Digest’s National Article Highlighting Augusta-Inspired Golf Holes

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Architects Golf Club Featured in Golf Digest’s National Article Highlighting Augusta-Inspired Golf Holes

Phillipsburg, NJ – June 5, 2025 – Architects Golf Club is thrilled to be featured in Golf Digest’s latest article titled “15 Augusta National-Style Holes That You Can Actually Play.” The piece highlights courses across the country that showcase design elements reminiscent of Augusta National — and honors Architects Golf Club’s own par-5 13th hole as a standout.

Written by Golf Digest architecture editor emeritus Ron Whitten, the article spotlights our 13th hole for its nod to legendary architect Alister MacKenzie. Featuring a shallow diagonal green fronted by a stream, it calls to mind Augusta’s famed 12th hole — with an added twist: a dramatic, three-tiered green that descends from right to left.

Designed by Stephen Kay and Ron Whitten, Architects Golf Club was built as a tribute to the game’s great course designers, with each hole reflecting the distinctive style of a different legendary architect. This innovative concept has earned national praise from major publications including Golf Digest, Golf Magazine, and Golfweek.

Being featured in Golf Digest among some of the most recognized courses in the country is an incredible honor. We’re proud to offer golfers a one-of-a-kind playing experience rooted in the history and artistry of golf course design.
