Charles "Steam Shovel" Banks, a Yale graduate and former English teacher, joined Seth Raynor's firm after working on a golf course project at the Hotchkiss School where Banks was teaching. Continuing the Macdonald-Raynor tradition, Banks adapted famous holes in his designs, with a particular fondness for the Redan hole from North Berwick Golf Links. Our course features a Banks-style par-3 12th hole, inspired by his unique green style.
