Happy Birthday to Canada’s greatest golf architect — Stanley Thompson, born September 18, 1893!
Known as “The Toronto Terror” for both his bold personality and even bolder bunkering, Thompson brought artistry and rhythm to mountain golf design — from Banff Springs in the Canadian Rockies to Cape Breton Highlands in Nova Scotia.
Our 17th hole is a masterful homage to Stanley Thompson’s artistry in golf course design, seamlessly blending balance, emphasis, rhythm, proportion, and harmony with the natural landscape. Its striking, asymmetrical bunker guarding the green showcases Thompson’s bold, flamboyant approach to bunkering.
